1. I think Manek was just being a bully and bullying Liir just because he felt like it, and also because Elphaba is different from other people since she's green.

3. i think she had a hunch that it was manek and thats why she was cursing him when she was looing at the icicle which fell down on his dead causing him to die.
4. elphaba saved liir using her witch powers which she hasn't discovered yet.

4) Of course she saved him because it's a nice thing to do. I wouldn't just sit there and let someone die, would you? And I think it was just CPR and all that stuff that saved him.
